Q. Do we get towels in washrooms during the Kailash Mansarovar yatra?

Towels and other toiletries are not provided in the washrooms on the entire Kailash Mansarovar Yatra except for Lucknow and Kathmandu. It is because of this reason that Trip To temples (u/o Divine Mantra Pvt. Ltd.) has included these items in the things to carry list for Holy Kailash Yatra. Q. Why do hotels in Tibet not have proper facilities?

Due to the limited availability of infrastructure, there are basic facilities available in accommodations in Tibet. It is only during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra season, i.e. from May to September that the hotels are operational, and for the rest of the time, it is closed because of which maintenance expense cannot be borne.
Trip To Temples provides the best available hotel in Tibet. Since the Kailash pilgrims know about the reality of the infrastructure, they are not much concerned about the services, what they are worried about is the darshan of Lake Mansarovar and Holy Kailash Parvat.

Q. How are rooms allocated in the Kailash yatra?

Rooms on a Twin and Triple sharing basis are allotted in Lucknow and Nepalganj (Helicopter Kailash Yatra) and Kathmandu (Overland Kailash Yatra). At the remaining places wherever hotels are mentioned that are by default on triple sharing and dormitories or guest houses are on multiple sharing bases. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has limited infrastructure. It is advised to come with an open mind to adjust to facilities. It is for sure that everybody would get a separate bed, blanket and pillow during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. We have not seen any significant problems while allocating beds or rooms till now.
