Types of Food and Meal available in Adi Kailash Yatra
Q. Can I get fruits or any other special food items if I am fasting on Adi Kailash-Om Parvat Yatra?
You can easily find local markets and shops from Kathgodam to Dharchula to buy fruits, because on ascending afterwards, you won't be able to get any. On high altitudes, there remains a scarcity of even basic resources sometimes, so it's better to be prepared for any such situation.
An important piece of advice is that you must stay hydrated, keep eating light food items, probably some fruits for hydration and constant energy.
Q. Can I get Jain food during the Adi Kailash Yatra?
We'll provide no onion, no garlic food during your stay in Adi kailash and Om Parvat Yatra. In case of a special request, inform us prior so that we can arrange it according to resource availability. Resources are limited at such a high altitude, and conditions are harsh, so it might be difficult to do so at times.
Q. How many meals per day do we get during Adi Kailash Yatra?
Three meals per day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are provided by us on the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra. Morning and evening tea is served, or you also have the option to enjoy evening soup.
Q. Which type of food is served in Adi Kailash yatra?
Pure veg food cooked without onion and garlic with utmost hygiene is served in an excellent buffet system to the pilgrims of Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra.
Q. Which cuisine is served on the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra?
You'll be served with a freshly cooked North Indian cuisine in an excellent buffet system at the Adi Kailash Om Parvat yatra stay.
Q. Is food on the Adi Kailash & Om Parvat yatra served from hotel/restaurant or cooked by a chef?
The Adi Kailash & Om Parvat region does not have restaurants as of now. Few small roadside dhabas and food points are scarcely available en route to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat from Dharchula. Permanent kitchens and cooks are deployed at each homestay/resthouse to serve freshly cooked, pure vegetarian, no onion and no garlic meals under our package service.
Q. Can we cook food on our own during Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra?
Cooking your food on Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra would be a difficult task because, firstly, it is a sensitive area and conditions are really harsh with gushing cold winds. After Dharchula there are many spots where the development of the road is still going on; therefore, you just can’t stop anywhere and start cooking. Secondly, we have our permanent kitchens at all spots, so if you want to cook for yourself, you need to be physically fit and request the cook for the same. There is no big market available after Dharchula, so you need to be considerate about buying essentials.
