Price: ₹45000 ₹On Request
According to Hindu religion Lord Shiva carried the lifeless body of Goddess Sati. During this journey, the Sudarshan Chakra split her form into 51 sacred parts. These parts fell at different places across the Indian subcontinent. The places where those 51 sacred parts fell later became the Shakti Peethas. Among those 51 divine places, one such sacred place is believed to be Maihaar, in present-day Satna, Madhya Pradesh. It is said that a part of Goddess Sati’s necklace fell on the Trikuta Mountain here. Because of this belief, the place came to be known as Maihaar, meaning Mother’s Necklace. Over time, it became one of the most respected Shakti Peeth sites in the region.
The Sharda Devi Temple is located at the top of Trikuta Mountain. Pilgrims come here mainly to pray to Maa Sharda Devi. There are 1063 steps to climb to reach the temple. Some devotees take the ropeway to reach the temple. Throughout the day, the temple remains busy with visitors coming for darshan and personal prayers. Local belief also speaks of the legendary warrior Alha. It is said that he still worships the goddess every morning. This story is an important part of Maihaar’s folklore and spiritual identity. Many such traditions have been preserved by local priests over generations.
Amarkantak is a hill station and the origin point of the holy River Narmada. Pilgrims from across India come here to visit Narmadakund and offer prayers. The town is closely connected with both Shakti and Shaiva traditions. Apart from it, Trimukhi Mandir and Jwaleshwar Mahadev are also some places of worship. Ancient temples from the Kalachuri period can also be seen here. These temples quietly reflect centuries of devotion and religious history. The atmosphere here feels calm and spiritual.
Beyond temples, the pilgrimage also includes important natural and heritage sites. Near Jabalpur, devotees visit Dhuandhar Falls and the marble rocks of Bhedaghat. The ancient Chausath Yogini Temple is another key stop on the journey. It is a historic shrine dedicated to the 64 yoginis and holds great spiritual value. All these sacred places come together in the Amarkantak Maihaar Shakti Peeth Tour.
This is a carefully planned 5-night, 6-day pilgrimage across Madhya Pradesh. The journey connects Shakti Peeth worship, river-origin darshan, and ancient heritage sites. It is designed for devotees seeking a meaningful and well-organised spiritual experience.
