7 Devi Darshan with Manimahesh Kailash Yatra (8 Night / 9 Days)

The drive swings through Khajjiar first, a meadow ringed with old deodar trees that makes people stop talking and just look. You just stand there.

Hadsar is 13 km from Bharmour. The drive takes an hour. Then the road stops and you walk. The path moves through dense pine forest with waterfalls showing up when you least expect them. Dhancho sits at a saddle in the peaks. Camp here, with the mountains on all sides, is one of those places that remind you why you came.

You leave early, before the sun if possible. Undertake a trek of 6 km and reach first destination of your Manimahesh Yatra, which is Gauri Kund. After taking a bath here, you trek another 1 km to reach the holy Mansarovar lake. A marble image of Shiva sits at the water's edge. After the holy dip, devotees circle the lake three times

The road back passes through Mukteshwar Dham and Kathgarh Temple before the mountains give way to the plains. The Golden Temple at night is not like the Golden Temple in photographs. The marble is lit from below, the sarovar holds the reflection whole, and the kirtan carries across the water without any effort at all.
