Pithoragarh: Mini Kashmir of Uttarakhand

Pithoragarh

The mesmerizing and breathtaking beauty of Pithoragarh includes perennial streams roaring down the zig-zag course, a stupendous variety of flora and fauna, the giant Himalayas, wide expanses of a grassy meadow, into a charming world of natural beauty. Having northern and eastern International boundaries with Nepal, Pithoragarh has great strategic significance and is also a politically sensitive district along the northern frontier of India.

Having tremendous strategic importance as the passes of Lipulekh, Kungribingri, Lampia Dhura, Lawe Dhura, and Belcha, Pithoragarh is the last district adjoining Tibet. Till 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs conducted the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Pithoragarh District, which was done by trek. The distance between Pithoragarh to Kailash Mansarovar is nearly 200 to 250 km.

You can also visit the famous Nainital Neem Karoli Baba temple in Kainchi Dham. The most fascinating thing about this temple is that Big Business Men like Mark Zuckerberg and The Late Steve Jobs started their journey to make big milestones for Facebook and Apple from this Temple.
