Kalpeshwar Pilgrimage Tour (2 Night / 3 Days)

Kalpeshwar Mahadev is one of the Panch Kedar formed when Lord Shiva's hair locks fell. As suggested by Lord Krishna, after the war of the Mahabharata, the Pandavas went in search to worship him and get rid of the sin for killing their relatives. On the other hand, due to the massacre caused in the war field, Lord Shiva was angry with the Pandavas and unwilling to appear in front of them. Pandavas kept looking for Lord Shiva in all possible places. When they reached Kashi, Lord Shiva escaped from there to Guptkashi in Uttarakhand. The Pandavas kept on their search to meet Shiva, and reached Kedar Village of Uttarakhand, where they resided away from them. Lord Shiva disguised himself in the form of a Bull and mixed himself in a herd of cattle to avoid the Pandavas. However the Bhim of Pandavas recogized him at tried catching the bull by its hump, Lord Shiva in the form of bull in chance of escape disappeared by enter the earth. The body parts of the Bull appeared at 5 different places later, which are now known as Panch Kedar. Seeing the dedication and feeling the guilt of the Pandavas, Lord Shiva forgave them and got them rid of their sins. The temples at Panch Kedar were built by the Pandavas.
