Overland Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 Resumes: Kodari-Nyalam Route Now Operational After Gyirong Bridge Collapse

The Overland Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 has resumed following a temporary suspension caused by the Gyirong bridge collapse. This development brings tremendous relief to thousands of Shiva devotees who have been eagerly awaiting the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Pilgrimage. Tibetan authorities have swiftly implemented an alternative solution for the Overland Yatra following the infrastructure setback. The Kodari-Nyalam route has been designated as the primary pathway for the Kailash Yatra 2025, replacing the previously used Syabrubesi-Gyirong route that became inaccessible due to the bridge collapse recently.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 will continue to commence from Kathmandu, along the traditional starting point for Indian pilgrims. However, instead of the Syabrubesi-Gyirong route, pilgrims will now travel via the Kodari-Nyalam route, which has been fully operational and upgraded to accommodate the increased pilgrim traffic. The itinerary will remain the same for the overland, but the itinerary section that includes the Syabrubesi-Gyirong route will be changed to the Kodari-Nyalam route. Afterwards, pilgrims will reach Saga, and the same itinerary continues from there onwards.

For your conceptual information, the Kodari route has previously served as a functional pathway for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. However, with the development of the Gyirong bridge infrastructure, it has been relegated to primarily serving import-export activities. The recent Gyirong bridge collapse necessitated the immediate reactivation of this route to ensure continuity of the Kailash travel experience. This transition is particularly significant as the Kailash Yatra has resumed after an extended hiatus for Indian pilgrims, making the route accessibility crucial for devotees planning their Mansarovar Yatra overland.

Pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Pilgrimage via the newly altered route will be accommodated in Nyalam for proper acclimatization. This strategic stopover ensures that participants can adequately adjust to the high-altitude conditions before proceeding with their spiritual journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.

Permit applications for the Kailash Yatra 2025 are currently being processed. Pilgrims will receive timely updates once we receive the yatra permit from the authorities. Trip To Temples assures pilgrims of comprehensive support throughout their journey; we emphasize that yatris need not worry about route changes or service disruptions, as they will receive complete assistance at every stage of their journey. The first batch of Trip To Temples has already departed from Lucknow via the helicopter route. We’ll continue working with precision and commitment to facilitating the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra afterwards.
