  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen holding a valid Indian passport with at least 6 months left as of 1st September of the year of the journey.
  • The age of the applicant must be between 18-70 years. The Body Mass Index of the applicant must be 25 or less.
  • According to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra health requirements, the medical examination will be conducted to determine the health parameters of an applicant before the commencement of the yatra. 
  • The applicant should not have a medical history of any of these lifestyle diseases—blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and heart disease.
  • All selected applicants will have to undergo medical examinations conducted by the Delhi Heart and Lung Institute and the ITBP Base Hospital in New Delhi to determine eligibility for high-altitude trekking. If one is found ineligible in terms of medical fitness, then his application stands canceled.
  • The Government of India conducts the yatra in batches on the selected dates. 
  • No applications will be taken from the ones with a legal or executive sanction that prevents them from going abroad for some reason. Their applications will be automatically rejected.
  • Applicants must provide accurate information through the entire procedure of the yatra. Any false information if provided would lead to the cancellation of the application.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Via A Private Tour Agency 

Well, it’s easier to plan the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via a travel management firm. From planning the yatra to making the best arrangements, everything would be planned by the travel agency itself. However, the eligibility and procedure of the Yatra are slightly different than the Ministry Of External Affairs Route. Here’s what you need to know about the eligibility criteria.

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen with a valid passport. Your passport must have at least 6 months left on the day of the start of the journey.
  • The applicant must be between the ages of 10 and 70 years. 
  • The issuance of the group visa will be managed by the travel agency. 
  • No medical examination will be conducted through the travel agency. The applicant must be physically fit. It is advisable to exercise regularly and practice jogging and running at least 3 months before the date of the journey.

Kailash Yatra Permit And Visa Explained

Both the Kailash Yatra permit and the VISA are issued on a group basis i.e. the group of travellers enters and exits Tibet together. VISA and permits are issued by the Chinese Embassy that allows tourists to travel to specific parts of China. 

The permit for the Kailash Yatra is typically applied 45 days before the yatra and is issued by the Chinese Embassy usually 7-10 days before the date of departure of the yatra. Permits can only be applied via recognized travel agencies. Please note that the visa application process typically takes 4-5 days. 

A staple VISA for the entire group is issued by the China embassy which is neither pasted nor stamped on the passport. The VISA for Kailash Yatra is a sheet of paper in which the name of each group member along with their nationality, date of birth, and passport number are mentioned.
