Best Time To Visit Kailash Mansarovar 


The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra starts in May and ends in September. However, the weather conditions at the Kailash Mansarovar are unpredictable and may turn out to be harsh. This holy mountain is located remotely at the trijunction of Tibet, Nepal, and India. The mountain stands tall amidst a rocky terrain. 

May to June

May and June are the ideal months to visit Kailash Mansarovar. The temperature remains moderate during the summer season. It is easier to do the trekking during summer months as compared to the wintry days. May and June are the best months to visit Kailash Mansarovar. 

September to October

September and October are also the ideal season for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The weather remains pleasant and cool.

Kailash Mansarovar Aerial Darshan

Kailash Mansarovar Aerial Darshan is the frequently opted route by the pilgrims. This is the Kailash Mansarovar new route and the most comfortable route. It is a mountain flight journey and allows you to do the darshan of Mount Kailash from an aircraft. One can enjoy the enchanting views of the holy Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar from the aerial view. One of the key highlights of this route is that it can be completed in only three days. The flight takes off from the Nepalgunj. 

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Via Limi Lapcha Valley 

The Kailash Mansarovar yatra via Lapcha Valley is the most convenient and hassle-free yatra. The journey is a mix of both flight and road journey. The yatra can be completed only in 6 days. The Limi Lapcha Valley offers the closest view of the holy Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. 

Here’s the hand-crafted itinerary of the yatra via Limi Valley:

  • Lucknow is the starting point of the yatra.
  • Travellers will catch the flight bound for Simikot via Nepalgunj Airport. 
  • The remaining journey to reach Limi Lapcha is a full road trip. 
  • From Simikot, there is a 10-hour-long drive to Tumling. 
  • Upon reaching Tumling, tourists will have a night stay there.
  • The next day, there is about 2 hours drive to Limi Lapcha Valley—the main site for Kailash Darshan. At Limi Lapcha you will be able to enjoy the Darshan of Mount Kailash quite closely. 
  • After the darshan, travellers will return to Lucknow via Simikot and Nepalgunj.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra By Helicopter From Kathmandu 

 Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by helicopter from Kathmandu is an 11-day yatra. You will drive to Nepalgunj airport to catch the flight to Simikot. After a few hours, you will take a helicopter flight to Hilsa. Upon reaching Hilsa, you will be driven to Purang. After this, you will be taken to Mansarovar Lake in an AC Volvo category bus. Later, from Mansarovar Lake, you will reach Darchen—the base point for Kailash Parikrama and Ashtapad Darshan. Later, you will fly to Nepalgunj to catch the flight to Kathmandu.
